Happy New Year!...

After a long day exploring Naples....lots of fun and hot chocolate :)... I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Recently we went to Herculaneum (sp?) which is like Pompei but smaller and more well preserved because instead of buring ash, it was covered with 60 feet of mud... So that was pretty neat. It was a giant resort/summer house town by the ocean before it was covered and there are all these huge colorful villas and frescos...it really is nice...

And two days ago my mom and sisters and I drove up a mountain to see this medeival town not thinking about the hug amount of wind you have on mountains...so we weren't exactly prepared for the cold wind, but it was fun anyways. There are these churches and castles that were built in the 5th century and a ton of narrow little streets to explore....and the mountain view is astonishing. It was really picture perfect....green grass, stone walls, villas, colorful trees, sheep..the works... pretty cool if I do say so myself....

And now come the fireworks...well more of them, today people actually stopped traffic in front of a church (which is hard not to do in downtown Naples where there are usually 3 churches in the same square) to set of huge loud booming fireworks at about 1315...and the city fireworks don't even START until 0115...they like late nights here...
It should be a fun night!
Happy New Year!
Felice Anno Nuovo e tanti auguri per il nuovo anno!

I just realized how lame I was...

I never posted about our awesome shows out in town.
Well, they were really good. Saturday's was the best. Everyone brought everything they had and were really exited. We had a great audience and afterwards we had awesome hot chocolate in the cafe across the street (it was more like hot pudding it was so thick).

Sunday was really good, I got real Naples pizza down the 135 steps from the theater. If anyone comes to visit I will definately take you there. It was really really good. Before the show we had our little circle time where we talked about how much the show meant to us. It really had meant a lot to me. I really did not like where I was in August and did not know anyone, but then this group of people made a point to get to know me and welcome me into their family. It was amazing and I am glad I found Footloose. I am going to miss everyone who is leaving, they are all great people that I am glad I got to know.

If anyone wants pictures, once they are uploaded...all 1000 of them, I will pick a select few to send out but I will include the link to the rest if you want it...just email me...

But yeah, Footloose rocked socks...now you can move on to the other new post I posted today right below this one... :)

The Secret Life of Bees...

So most of you know that Footloose is done, and many of you know that our next show is going to be High School Musical, which should be fun because of the many cool people auditoning and running the show.

Because Footloose is done and now I am out of school I seem to have all this free-time (I have no homework this break!). So this morning I went to the Christmas party here, run as kind of a fundraiser, but it was pretty interesting. Then I went to the library to find a book or movie and came back with no books, a Seasame Street and Discovery Channel movie, and High School Musical on request. There are no books at this library...I should have checked some out at my school library.

At 5 I went to go to see "The Secret Life of Bees," because I had enjoyed the book and it had a pretty awesome team behind it. Anyways, it rocked. The actors were fabulous, the writing was great...it was just really good. Go see it if you get the chance.

By the way, what is this obsession people have with "The Dark Knight?" I do not understand it. We watched it during lunch and during math and it was shown during other people's classes on Friday too. *shivers* Creepy demented movie.

I am very jealous of all of you back in the states who have access to "Twilight." And those who have snow... I am jealous of you too.

:P

Footloose!...

So I haven't posted in ages...probably because I haven't been home because of killer rehearsals and shows every night for Footloose.

We had dress rehearsals every night except for Thursday last week and I became sick. I completely lost my voice Friday and could barely talk. Then one of the trio members lost her voice the next night and we had to cut a song. Sunday the rest of the trio covered for her beautifully. In all it is a pretty good show. The lighting is good and we have some AWESOME singers in our show! We did our first 3 shows at the high school. Our dressing room was the home ec room and guess what?! They had rolling chairs. So me and my friend responsibly scooted down the hall, not like crazy to cause us getting in trouble...just far enough to reach the piano and play and sing harmony for Jingle Bells. And Beauty and the Beast. And Part of Your World. And As Long as You're Mine. And The First Noel. And everything else we could think of. Oh! And Off to Massachusetts and Somethings are Meant to Be. Yes. It was fun. :D
I am now part of the 66% of the Junior class that has made honor roll. Quite honestly. 66%. I just think thats a crazy number of people to have fantastic grades. Anyways. A lot of people so deserve it though, they work crazy hard and get their 4.0s or higher.
I really should be doing my essay on success for humanities (again, what? humanities = art history, not self analysis). But I want to go and drink tea and make cookies. I love the smell of Christmas cookies...and just of Christmas. And the smell of a theater. But that's different. I have rehearsal downtown today, it should be pretty fun. The Italians have huge billboards for Footloose downtown!
