SAT was the low point of my awesome weekend...

We went up to Tuscany this weekend.
Wait, let me back up.
On Friday I got out early. I went to lunch with some of the coolest people in Naples (Meghan, Dilsa, Caitlyn, Melissa, and Jessica) and got sandwiches from the NEX....yum. THEN, Meghan and I went to the school in an attempt to finish our Creative Connections stuff, which didn't work out so well due to the lack of falculty in the building; so we decided to chill at my casa and drink chocolate milk before sending off a package that was LONG overdue (which reminds me, library books, I need to return them) before I had to go to an Irish dance class with Emily.

Irish dance: I was scared at first, I thought I would be the only older person there, but alas (word of the week: ALAS) Ryan M. was there! It was a lot of fun and my feet were made for it with my abnormally large turnout.

After dance came SAT studying because I had failed to really study in the weeks prior and the test was the next morning, so I did that until I was set free to talk to Ryan :)

SAT: Super long and dull, but I got through it. Breaks were made slightly more amusing by Dan and Ben, thank goodness...

Packing: As soon as I got home from the SAT I shoved clothes in a bag, grabbed my iPod and New Moon (A complete coincidence that we were going to Tuscany when I had New Moon. I was just tired of Twilight and I needed an easy book) and hopped in the car for a few hours with Lady and the Tramp 2 and lots of turning roads.

We got to the place we were staying at around 6, just in time to see the amazing Tuscan weather and sunset turn into an incredible storm with all the trimmings. We put some wood in and made a fire as we ate our pasta before watching Psych and heading to bed.

The next day we headed to Siena where we got stuck on the tiny roads and eventually found a parking spot with all the other Americans who read Rick Steves and listen to his parking instructions. Once we got into the city, my family immediately purchased gelato (Mint and Straciatella) and walked around the city, taking Ode to Water Bottle Pictures and looking at everything. I was searching for the perfect mask for homecoming but I couldn't find one...

Eventually we decided to stop for pizza. The sisters shared a regular pizza and Steph kept trying to fold her large napkin into a crane (it ended up looking like a dinosaur with wings). When Steph finally got it into a bird-looking-thing, a New Zealand man came up and started talking to us in really slow English, (I'm guessing my Dad yelling, "basta" at us, convinced him we were Italian). He told us a story with a napkin, illustrating a flat chicken being brought to the vet, (a VET, enunciated with crossed fingers) and then the vet comes back with a cooked chicken. The story itself wasn't that funny but you just knew he was one of those guys who has told the story too many times back home and was glad to share it with a new audience. The women he was with thought that his telling of the story to the children of Italy was pictury worthy, so now they have pictures of an American family trying not to laugh at people assuming they don't speak English. But eventually he asked where we were from and my very smart sister goes, "We live in Naples," reinforcing his idea of us being Italian... It made us laugh...

Before we got back in the car to head to Montalcino Steph and I decided to use the restroom only to be stopped by a teenage waiter who thought it would be amusing to try to tell us the bathroom was closed. I knew he was joking but didn't know how much English I could joke back with....so I ended up sounding really lame. Steph made fun of me.

In Montalcino we looked inside a fort and got some good hot chocolate and wine. We drove home and drank some wine and played cards and ate Sun Chips... It was a lot more fun than it sounds here.

This morning we ran around the house where we were staying before heading to Montepulciano, where New Moon was filmed (Boys: I know you do not care but I thought it was kind of cool). We saw the piazza and the clock tower and all that stuff. We got out right before it started storming. Steph and I got stuck in the gas station while it poured so hard we didn't want to leave. The storm followed us all the way back to Naples while we watched Little Mermaid 1 and 2!

I had a good weekend, this week should be fun with Homecoming and stuff.... Let's hope the homework load stays low...I still have college apps...
